The FCGC supported the major initiative of restoring and relocating the valuable and historically significant mid-century sculptures located at Hartwood Acres Park into a new Sculpture Garden. The grand opening was in July of 2022. Most of the sculptures required extensive conservation and repairs. All of them were relocated along interconnecting walkways with a backdrop of newly planted native trees and shrubs. The newly reimagined Hartwood Sculpture Garden offers a valuable opportunity for education, art appreciation and casual strolling in a sustainable landscape setting.

The Suffragist Grove was founded in Hartwood Acres Park on August 2020, the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. Our Club is pleased to support this grove dedicated to the use native tree and plants to honor valiant women. Our gift specifically honors Sally Foster’s dedication to planning and maintaining the gardens at Harwood for many years.
