The Fox Chapel Garden Club is committed to our mission which aligns with the missions and goals of National Garden Clubs, Inc.; Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs, Inc.; and Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania. Through our projects, activities and support for community endeavors, these are our ventures.

Ventures

Allegheny County Parks Foundation

Support the planting of thirty native trees and shrubs at Hartwood Acres Park.

 

Annual Annual Adventure

Introduce our members and guests to new plants, tips on care and use of plants, and enjoy a tour of Brenckle’s Greenhouses.

Support the removal of ten invasive Bradford Pear trees along Freeport Road to be replaced with native trees.

 

Cooper-Siegel Community Library

Sponsor of horticultural programs, such as dried flower wreath/door hanging, forest bathing, print making.

Fund the renovation of the Fritz Mitnick Welcome Garden with native plantings.

Fox Chapel Area School District’s Mary’s Garden at the High School

Support for replacement plants, irrigation hoses and pump parts, fish food and other supplies for the garden and its pond.

 

Fox Chapel Area School District’s O’Hara Elementary Green Foxes

Support for the purchase of seeds, bulbs, seedlings, student garden tools, gloves, insect kits, compost, trellis kits and solar drip irrigation.

 

Fox Chapel Garden Club Scholarship

Award a scholarship to a Fox Chapel Area High School graduating senior, who plans to attend a four-year university.

 

Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania's Plant-A-Tree

Support for this reforestation and forest education program.

Support for scholarships to high school, college and postgraduate college students who plan to further their education in horticulture, conservation, forestry, botany and/or allied subjects.

Effort to dig and divide proven perennials from our members' gardens, which culminates in our all-day plant sale and educational gardening event in May.
